15th Irish Eyes are Miling – Record Number and Donations

 

All were wearing the green for the 15th annual “Irish Eyes are Miling” road race.  Dave Ramanauskas dressed in his Irish attire played the bagpipes to start the race.  Jack McDonald and founder of the race took pictures.  Our pot of gold came to $921 which will go to the American Cancer Society/Cheshire Relay for Life, and we owe it all to our sponsors Bagelicious and Victor Advertising, and the following families:  Morley, Waldron, Marcugliano, Savino, Irwin, Rasmussen, Lewis, Morin, Castagna, Robinson, Zebarth, Brown, Stronk, Irish, Velleca, Gelmetti, Orcutt, Commune, Brain, Wetmore, Tarca, Morck, Fiedler, Carson, Herscovici, Russell, Miller, Sanders, Cuppernull, Cohen, Peters, Capasso, Tyrrel, Severino, Gallagher, Schlegel, Jeddry, Murphy, McGregor and the Iorios. The 15th Annual “Irish Eyes are Miling” on Sunday, March 11, 2012 had a record number of participants and a record for dollars raised. Over 100 participated $921 was raised at the Annual “Groundhog Day for Irishmen” in Cheshire’s Rustic Lane and Argyle Road neighborhood near the Doolittle School.

Colin Plays in AHL All-Star Game, Then gets called back to NHL’s Penquins

Penguins recall forward McDonald

The Penguins have recalled forward Colin McDonald from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

McDonald has appeared in two NHL games this season and has not scored a point.

In 41 AHL games, he is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s leading scorer with 38 points (26 goals, 12 assists). He participated in the AHL’s all-star game in Atlantic City, N.J. Monday night.

McDonald, 25, was a free-agent signing this past summer.

The Penguins play the Maple Leafs at Consol Energy Center tonight, 7:08 p.m.

Congrats Bob “Rosco” Edwards for Induction to Archies Hall of Fame

Congrats to our “cousin” Bob Edwards ’69 for being inducted to the Archbishop Williams High School Hall of Fame for his outstanding success as a captain of the ice hockey team from 1965-69 . The induction ceremony will be Sunday, March 25th, 2012 in the afternoon at a site TBA. “Rosco” joins brother Jack ’67 who was inducted to the Archies Hall of Fame on 2010.

Could be playing vs. the Rangers tonight (1/6/12) in Pittsburgh

The Penguins have recalled forward Colin McDonald from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL. McDonald, 27, is the AHL Penguins’ leading scorer with 28 points (eight goals, 20 assists) in 33 games.

He was selected to the AHL’s all-star game earlier this week.

A free agent signing this past summer, McDonald has appeared in two NHL games in his career, both with the Oilers, and has one goal.
